Instead Of Boring T-Shirts and Sweats...

Good morning, darlings! Have you been telling all of your friends about this site? I hope so ;) Today we're going to play a little game. It's called "Instead Of...". Each time we play this game, I'm going to pick a "look" that most people in a certain category of my choosing wear. For example if we played..."Instead of Booty Shorts and Barely-There Camis" the category would be "Women Trapped in their Teenage Years!" Today's post is "Instead of Boring T-Shirts and Sweats..." so can you guess the category? It's "Women on the Go!" I don't know about you, but when I see a busy woman bustling around, they are usually wearing something like this:
-boring, ill-fitting, drab t-shirt
-Nike/Adidas athletic shorts
-basic flip-flops
I'm not trying to be stereotypical, but I'm just making an assessment of some outfits I have seen on women on the go. Here's a message to all of those type of women: you don't have to look like a woman on the go to be a woman on the go! So, I'll show you an outfit that takes no time to put together, is affordable, and works with your lifestyle.

Instead of drab t's, try...
A fun, brightly colored, ribbed tanktop! This fits your form, is cool for summer, and will POP! You could even layer a couple of tank tops to add depth and splash to your outfit!

Instead of athletic shorts/sweats, try...
Tailored jean or khaki shorts/bermudas. IF YOU TRY SHORTS, make sure they are modest (long enough) to still be classy!

(Gap, $45, www.gap.com)
Though these are cut-off, they are form-fitting (but NOT skin tight!) and have a polished look.
Keep an open mind when it comes to shorts/bermudas! If you want classy, nice looking bermudas, they aren't going to be very cheap. Just remember, if you get jean bermudas, they go with almost ANYTHING! They're pretty much the gift that keeps on giving in your wardrobe!

Instead of basic flip-flops, try...
Fun sandals! Basic flip-flips often look sloppy, though they CAN look okay with a casual sundress. But, with this particular outfit, we want more dressy sandals. (Don't make the sandals TOO dressy if you're just wearing jean bermudas, it makes the outfit look disproportinate. Only try more dressy sandals with khaki bermudas.)

^Keep in mind that you're not ALWAYS going to find great deals like this, but I do HIGHLY recommend Forever 21's sandals!

To top it all off, try...
A fun necklace that matches your tanktop! Necklaces always add a bit of glamour to a basic tanktop! Make sure your necklace is bright and colorful so it stands out!

That's all for now, my fashionistas! If you're the "woman on the go", try these substitutions. Take a pic of your wonderful new outfit, and post it here! It would be a great encouragement for our fellow girls on this site and I would love to see the outcome!

Have a fashionable day!

Welcome!

Hey!
Welcome to Fashion for the Unfashionable, a blog where you can journey with me to find styles you love for great prices even if you don't give a crap/have a clue about fashion! I'll post try-able not too over the top fashionable styles for you! Also, if you want me to recommend a certain style tailored to your lifestyle/bodytype, just comment on any of my posts (or message me) describing yourself and your lifestyle, and I'll hook you up quickly with styles that would work for you! So, let's dive into the world of fashion, shall we?
Okay, first I'll show you some of the best fashion choices for two common body types.
Hour Glass Body Type:
You have a large chest and a short waist.
What's good for you?
Try pencil skirts like this:

pencilskirt
(Ann Taylor Loft, $59, http://www.anntaylorloft.com/)
Also, avoid stilletos! Try peeptoe or rounded toe heels.
Pear Shaped Body Type:
You have larger thighs and hips. The rest of your body is toned and muscular.
What's good for you?
Pants without side pockets are always good for your body type.
Try a short belted trench coat for cool days like this:
trenchcoat
(Ralph Lauren, $75, http://www.ralphlauren.com/)
This takes an emphasis off of your thighs and puts the spotlight on your tiny stomach and mid-section.

That's all for today, loves!
Visit me here everyday and have a fashionable day! (:
